This course provides hands-on experience and knowledge for safely handling and distributing agricultural chemicals. Key topics include:
Legislation & Compliance: Understand WHS regulations, chemical codes of practice, and chemical storage laws
Chemical Handling & Storage: Correct procedures for transporting, storing, and using chemicals
PPE Selection & Use: Choose, inspect, and correctly use protective equipment
Risk Management: Identify hazards, assess risks, and implement control measures
Spill & Emergency Response: Procedures for containment, cleanup, and reporting incidents
Record Keeping & Documentation: Maintain accurate chemical records and compliance documents
By the end of this course, you’ll be confident in handling chemicals safely, complying with legal requirements, and maintaining best-practice procedures on site.
In order to provide you with the best possible learning outcomes, this course is delivered via a mix of online learning and face-to-face training. You will be assigned an experienced Trainer Assessor for support throughout your course.
Step 1 - Complete theory module online (self-paced, complete within 30 days)
The online modules include quizzes, written tasks, and scenario-based exercises to ensure comprehension.
Step 2 - Attend 1 day face-to-face practical training
Practical exercises allow you to apply your learning under the supervision of an experienced Trainer Assessor.
You need to pass both steps to complete the course.

There are no formal entry requirements for this course, however students will need:
Basic computer skills and internet access (for enrolment and online modules)
Adequate language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) skills to complete assessments
A valid Unique Student Identifier (USI) – mandatory for all nationally recognised training
