The Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) course provides you with the essential skills and knowledge to respond effectively in emergencies. Designed for anyone who may be required to provide CPR in the workplace or community, this course covers the latest nationally approved techniques for life support, including the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).
Whether you work in construction, mining, education, health care, or any environment where safety is critical, this training gives you the confidence and skills to respond quickly and effectively when every second counts.

This nationally recognised course provides you the practical skills and confidence to perform CPR in real-life emergencies. You’ll get hands-on experience practising CPR on adult and infant manikins (medical training dummies), learn how to respond calmly in an emergency, and learn how to safely use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). You'll learn:
The knowledge and skills you learn will be tested under pressure to ensure you are prepared to handle emergencies in the workplace, at home, or in the community. This course is delivered in line with first aid guidelines from the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other national peak clinical bodies.
How Often Should You Renew Your CPR Training?
Regular CPR refresher training helps you maintain confidence and accuracy in performing life-saving techniques. The Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and Safe Work Australia recommend completing a CPR refresher every 12 months to ensure your skills stay current with the latest resuscitation guidelines.
Some workplaces - especially those in high-risk industries - may require CPR training to be updated more frequently. Check with your employer to confirm your workplace’s specific renewal requirements.
Step 1 - Complete theory module online (within 30 days)
The online modules are self-paced and include assessments (quizzes, written tasks, or short scenario-based exercises) to ensure understanding.
Step 2 - Attend 1 day face-to-face training (appx 4-6 hours)
Your trainer will give you practical tasks to complete based on the information you’ve learned in your online theory module.
You need to pass both steps to complete the course.
Basic computer skills and internet access (for enrolment and online modules)
Adequate language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) skills to complete assessments
A valid Unique Student Identifier (USI) - mandatory for all nationally recognised training
Construction Training Fund (CTF - WA)
Eligible apprentices, trainees, workers and business owners in WA’s building and construction industry can save up to 70% per course (metro) and 80% per course (regional) with CTF funding. As an approved bulk billing provider, we handle the paperwork and claim process for you - so you only pay the gap while you upskill, get licences, and complete safety courses.
