Through a series of online quiz questions and assessments, the Standard 11 refresher course will test your knowledge of key surface mine site safety protocols and keep you up-to-date with the latest industry standards and regulations.
The course duration has been shortened to align with your existing knowledge and skills.
You'll be assigned a dedicated trainer/assessor for support if required for the duration of your course, and you have 30 days from enrolment to complete it.
This course ensures you remain compliant to work on surface coal and metaliferous mine sites as mandated by the Queensland Mining Safety Inspectorate.
Upon successful completion of the Standard 11 refresher course, you will be awarded a nationally-recognised Statement of Attainment and 6 nationally accredited units of competency:
RIIWHS201E - Work safely and follow WHS policies and procedures.
RIIERR205D - Apply initial response first aid.
RIIGOV201E - Comply with site work processes/procedures.
RIIRIS201E - Conduct local risk control.
RIICOM201E - Communicate in the workplace.
RIIERR302E - Respond to local emergencies and incidents.
This Statement of Attainment is valid for 5 years or as stipulated by your employer.
To be eligible to enrol in this course, you must:
Hold a current (less than 5 years old) Statement of Attainment (issued by an RTO) listing all 6 Standard 11 competencies.
Provide valid photo ID (driver's license, passport).
Be at least 15 years of age.
Internet connection and access to a desktop, laptop or tablet.
Please note we do not accept wallet cards. If you do not have access to your current Statement of Attainment, you can obtain a VET Transcript from your USI student portal. For instructions, click here and select 'How to view and download my USI Transcript'.
If you do not meet these entry requirements for the refresher course, you will need to complete the full course instead. An additional assessment fee will apply for the practical training and assessment component, which can be delivered at any of our training facilities throughout Queensland.

Unfortunately, there is no funding available for the Standard 11 Refresher course.
The online course is self-paced and typically takes between 2-4 hours to complete. However, you have 30 days from your enrolment date to complete the refresher course online at your own pace.
