Champion Health and Safety in your Workplace
Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) play a crucial role in creating safer, healthier workplaces. This WorkSafe WA-approved five-day course gives newly elected HSRs the practical skills, legal understanding, and confidence to represent their workgroup effectively and drive positive safety outcomes.
Aligned with the Work Health and Safety Act 2020 (WA) and WHS Regulations 2022 (WA), the course covers everything you need to know to fulfil your duties - from identifying and managing risks to consulting with employers and workers on safety matters.
Under the legislation, employers must allow elected HSRs to complete this training within three months of election and cover all associated costs. Once qualified, HSRs are also entitled to attend an annual one-day refresher course to maintain and enhance their skills.

The Health and Safety Representative (HSR) course provides newly elected HSRs with the knowledge and confidence to effectively represent their workplace in health and safety matters. Through practical guidance and interactive learning, you’ll understand your rights and responsibilities under workplace safety legislation, identify hazards, contribute to risk management, and participate in consultations and inspections. There are no formal entry requirements; however, students will need:
Basic computer skills and internet access (for enrolment and communication)
Sufficient language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) skills to complete assessments
A valid Unique Student Identifier (USI) - mandatory for all nationally recognised training. If you don’t have one, you can apply at usi.gov.au or we can assist.

Construction Training Fund (CTF - WA)
Eligible apprentices, trainees, workers and business owners in WA’s building and construction industry can save up to 70% per course (metro) and 80% per course (regional) with CTF funding. As an approved bulk billing provider, we handle the paperwork and claim process for you - so you only pay the gap while you upskill, get licences, and complete safety courses.
