Course Delivery and Assessment

This course is delivered 100% online, combining interactive theory modules with short assessments to test your knowledge as you progress. You’ll also have a dedicated trainer/assessor available throughout the course to provide support whenever you need it.

The Certificate IV in Entrepreneurship and New Business is self-paced, so you can enrol at any time and study around work, family, or other commitments. While the average completion time is around 12 months, your actual duration depends on the time you dedicate and your existing skills.

Students receiving study benefits from Centrelink (education on supplement) will be obligated to complete the course in 28 weeks (full-time) or 56 weeks (part-time). Students who complete the course as part of a traineeship will have 12 months full-time or 2 years part-time.

The Certificate IV in Entrepreneurship and New Business is a nationally-recognised qualification under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF). On successful completion, you’ll receive a Statement of Attainment for the following 10 accredited units of competency, including four (4) core units (*).

Career Pathways
  • Entrepreneur - individuals who create and run their own businesses. This may involve identifying a gap in the market and developing a new product or service, or taking an existing business model and making it their own.

  • Business Owner - responsible for managing their own businesses, which may include marketing, sales, accounting, and other aspects of business management.

  • Business Development Manager - responsible for identifying new business opportunities and developing strategies to grow a business. This may involve conducting market research, identifying potential clients, and developing sales strategies.

There are no formal entry requirements to enrol in this course; however, students should have:

  • basic computer skills and access to the internet

  • sufficient language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skills to complete assessments, and;

  • A valid Unique Student Identifier (USI) - mandatory for all nationally recognised training. If you don't already have a USI, you can apply for one online at www.usi.gov.au or we can apply for one for you.
